Members of the newly formed Sun Coast EVA worked with the City of Sarasota to help present the value of becomming a member of Plug-In Partners to the City Commissioners and the Mayor. Members of SUNEVA and the FLEAA cooperated to make the event a success.

I brought my car, which was well accepted by whoever saw it including the media. It is a successful realization of my objectives for a car that is educational and presentable. Andrew Roddy, Public Relations Officer for the FLEAA and I were interviewed by Tampa Bay 10 (CBS) which aired later that evening. Andrew did a great job of demonstrating his E-Box and they were interesed in my car as a less expensive home conversion.

Andrew was so busy giving rides, I didn't get a good close-up of his car, so I had to use a file photo for a close-up of the E-Box from the BBB.

James Parish was also there with his Plug-In Prius, the first DIY conversion in Florida, which he charges from solar panels on his property. There was also a Miles LSV, a Zen Truck and a Vectrix Motor Cycle.

I put a great deal of effort into the Paper submitted to the City of Sarasota Commissioners.

It is my experience that at such a presentation, the actual words spoken are quickly forgotten. There will be as many accounts of what I said, as there were people in attendance. That is why I always present a written statement. The commissiioners can pass this on to their staff and both they and their staff can refer to the document when its content becomes important to them.

I think the delivery was smooth and passionate and successful to the extent that the Commissioner made and passed a motion to put the Plug-In Partners Resolution on the agenda for their next meeting. I was told that that is the same as passing the resolution. It is a done deal. So they got what they wanted out of it.
